New Rochelle, New York - July 15, 2012

The 59th Death Anniversary of Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios was celebrated in the Tri-State region at the St. Mary’s Syro-Malankara Catholic Parish, New Rochelle.

The solemn concelebrated Holy Eucharist was officiated by His Excellency the Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius, Bishop of the Exarchate. During his homily, His Excellency highlighted the importance and relevance of the great mission movement initiated by Mar Ivanios in the southernmost part of India. The life and commitment of Mar Ivanios continues to challenge us to assume the fundamental missionary attitudes that His Grace witnessed to all through his life. After the Holy Eucharist, special commemorative prayers were conducted. Rev. Fr. Sathyan OIC delivered the memorial lecture, delineating the ascetical wealth of the life of the Servant of God.

Very Rev. Fr. Augustine Mangalath, Rev. Fr. Sunny Mathew, Rev. Fr. Abraham Lukose, Rev. Fr. Francis Assisi and Rev. Fr. George Oonnoony concelebrated the Holy Mass. A large number of our faithful participated in the celebrations.
