Marriage Preparation (Pre-Cana) course

The Marriage Preparation (Pre-Cana) course, organized by the Department of Family Apostolate, will be held on March 21 - 22, 2020 at the Bishop Molloy Retreat Center in Jamaica, New York. The registration fee is $250 and this includes boarding, food. The course will start at 8 AM on Saturday and will conclude at 3 PM on Sunday. The Marriage Preparation (Pre-Cana) course is being organized by Rev. Fr. Mathai Mannoorvadakkethil, Director of the Department of Family Apostolate in the Eparchy. Kindly note that payment should be received 8 days before the Pre-Cana course

Silver Jubilee of Rev. Sr. Litty Maria D.M.

The St. Joseph’s Syro-Malankara Catholic Parish, Detroit celebrated the Silver Jubilee of the religious life of Rev. Sr. Litty Maria DM on Thursday, November 28. The Eparchial Bishop, His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos, presented Sr. Litty with a ponnada as a sign of appreciation for having completed 25 years of religious life. Blessing of St. Peter's Syro-Malankara Catholic Church Rockland

A long-cherished dream of St. Peter’s Syro-Malankara Catholic Parish, one of the three New York-based parishes in the Eparchy, is blessed with a beautiful place of worship of its own in Rockland county. The parish community has been able to purchase the historic Greenbush Presbyterian Church in Blauvelt, NY. The blessing of the newly renovated Church and the Holy Qurbono was celebrated on November 23, 2019. The Holy Mass was presided over by His Excellency the Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos, the Bishop of the Eparchy, and His Excellency Most Rev. Dr.

Blessing of St. Joseph's Syro-Malankara Catholic Church Detroit

The St. Joseph’s Malankara Catholic Parish in Detroit is blessed with a beautiful place of worship of their own. On November 28, 2019, the blessing of the church and Holy Qurbono was celebrated. First Mass of Fr. Jobin Thomas

Reverend Jobin Thomas, who was ordained a priest on November 16, 2019 for the Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy in the USA and Canada by His Excellency the Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos, offered his First Holy Mass on Sunday, November 17 in his home parish in Toronto, Canada. At 3:30 pm on November 17, the new priest and His Excellency Philipos Mar Stephanos, His Excellency Thomas Mar Eusebius, and His Excellency Jacob Mar Barnabas were received at the entrance of the Church. During the Holy Mass, His Excellency Mar Stephanos gave the homily.

Ordination of Deacon Jobin Thomas to the Priesthood

Deacon Jobin Thomas was ordained a priest for the Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy in the USA and Canada on Saturday, November 16 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada by His Excellency the Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos. Present on the occasion were also His Excellency Thomas Mar Eusebius, the Bishop of Parassala, His Excellency Jacob Mar Barnabas, Bishop of Gurgaon-Delhi, and His Excellency Bishop Jose Kalluvelil, the Bishop of the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Mississauga. Also present were Rt. Rev. Msgr.

Pastoral Council Meeting

On October 26, 2019, the Pastoral Council meeting was held at 1 PM in the Eparchial Chancery, Elmont, NY. His Excellency Philipos Mar Stephanos presided over the meeting, which began with a prayer. His Excellency extended a formal welcome to everyone and the eight commissions presented their reports, followed by a group discussion. There was also a discussion about the upcoming Regional Family conferences. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Augustine Mangalath proposed the vote of thanks, and the meeting concluded with prayers and the blessing from Aboon Mar Stephanos.

Diocesan Day & Bishop’s Day Celebration

On October 26, 2019, the Eparchy celebrated Bishop’s Day & Diocesan Day. October 28 marks the second anniversary of His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos’ installation as the Eparchial Bishop. The celebration began with the Holy Qurbono at 9:45 AM, and as part of the celebration, a felicitation speech was given by the Pastoral Council Secretary, Mr. Philipose Mathew and Bishop Stephanos thanked the entire Eparchy for its support and prayers. A Spiritual Bouquet (Praarthanaa Manjari) was given to His Excellency on this occasion.

2nd Assembly of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Major Archiepiscopal Church

The 2nd Assembly of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Major Archiepiscopal Church started at Catholicate Centre, Pattom, Trivandrum on 8th October 2019, and concluded on October 10th, 2019 with the 25th commemoration of Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. The theme of the Assembly was "Grace filling families. There were 200 representatives attending the Assembly from all the Dioceses, Exarchate and Extra Territorial Regions. His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos attended the Assembly along with the following Eparchial representatives: Rev. Fr. Babu Madathiparambil, Mr. Christopher V.

Visit with The Holy Father

During the Ad Limina visit, His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos had an opportunity to visit personally with the Holy Father and he conveyed the greetings and prayers of the Eparchy to the Holy Father. During the meeting, the Holy Father presented a gift to His Excellency. The Holy Father extended his blessings to the Eparchy.
