Liturgical Season:

Heb 10:5-10

5For this reason, when he came into the world, he said:*

“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,d

but a body you prepared for me;

6holocausts and sin offerings you took no delight in.

7Then I said, ‘As is written of me in the scroll,

Behold, I come to do your will, O God.’”

8First he says, “Sacrifices and offerings, holocausts and sin offerings,* you neither desired nor delighted in.” These are offered according to the law.e 9Then he says, “Behold, I come to do your will.” He takes away the first to establish the second.f 10By this “will,” we have been consecrated through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.g

Jn 17:1-5

The Prayer of Jesus.* 1When Jesus had said this, he raised his eyes to heaven* and said, “Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you,a 2* just as you gave him authority over all people,b so that he may give eternal life to all you gave him. 3* Now this is eternal life,c that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ. 4I glorified you on earth by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do. 5Now glorify me, Father, with you, with the glory that I had with you before the world began.d
