2 Cor 9:6-11

6Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.b 7Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.c 8* Moreover, God is able to make every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work. 9As it is written:

“He scatters abroad, he gives to the poor;

his righteousness endures forever.”d

10The one who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness.e

11* You are being enriched in every way for all generosity, which through us produces thanksgiving to God,

Lk 6:46-49

The Two Foundations. 46d “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ but not do what I command? 47* I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, listens to my words, and acts on them.e 48That one is like a person building a house, who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock; when the flood came, the river burst against that house but could not shake it because it had been well built. 49But the one who listens and does not act is like a person who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the river burst against it, it collapsed at once and was completely destroyed.”
