His Excellency the Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius, the Bishop of the Eparchy officiated the Palm Sunday celebrations at the St. Thomas Syro-Malankara Catholic Parish of New Jersey. The special liturgy of the Palm Sunday began at 10.00 am at the community hall of the Divine Mercy Parish in Rahway. The Palm Sunday liturgy was followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Peter Kochery, the Pastor of the Parish was the co-celebrant. During the homily, His Excellency said that the Palm Sunday invites us to assume the basic values that Jesus witnessed through His earthly life, namely, the values of service in humility, suffering for the sake of love and of forgiving and self-emptying. The celebrations of the day was concluded with a community lunch. On the previous day, that is, on Saturday, March 19, His Excellency preached the Lenten retreat to the parishioners.
