Yonkers, New York - September 5, 2012

On Wednesday, September 5th, His Excellency Bishop Mar Eusebius joined the Cardinal Archbishop of New York, His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan, and other bishops of the New York Archdiocese for a Mass of the Holy Spirit to begin the new academic year at St. Joseph's Seminary in Dunwoodie, New York. At the beginning of a new academic year, it is a long-standing custom for Catholic colleges and universities to offer a Mass of the Holy Spirit. Entrusting the new academic year to the Holy Spirit, and praying for the entire world, and seminary community, this Mass was also a time to pray for the success of the coming academic year.

Three of the Exarchate's seminarians currently study at St. Joseph's Seminary. Deacon Michael Edathil is in his fourth year of theological studies and Brothers Jerry Mathew and Jobin Thomas are in their first year.

The participation of Bishop Eusebius in the Opening Mass demonstrates the continued hospitality of the Seminary rector and faculty toward the Syro-Malankara Catholic Exarchate and their commitment to properly forming the Exarchate's seminarians.
