The Syro-Malankara Catholic Mission of Los Angeles

The long cherished dream of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Faithful in Los Angeles became a reality on October 14, 2012 as the Syro-Malankara Catholic Mission was officially started by His Excellency the Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius, bishop of the Sryo-Malankara Catholic Exarchate in USA. Rev. Fr. Kuriakose Mambrakatt is appointed the priest in charge of this Mission. His Excellency and Fr. Kuriakose celebrated the Holy Eucharist with our Faithful in Los Angeles at 10:00 am on October 14th at the Chapel of the Mary Knoll Sisters in Monrovia, and the Mission was officially inaugurated. After the Holy Mass the community gathered at the Convent of the Daughters of Mary in Glendora for a meeting and agape. During the meeting, His Excellency announced that regular Sunday Mass for this Mission will be held at 10:00 am at the Chapel of the St. Patrick’s Church, North Hollywood.

Rev. Fr. Kuriakose Mambrakkatt hails from the Diocese of Moovattupuzha and, for almost the past two decades, he has been rendering exemplary mission work in the diocese of Baleswar in Orissa. He has held responsible offices in the State and National youth leadership ministry. The Exarchate wishes the new Mission and Fr. Kuriakose abundant blessings from God. Fr. Kuriakose also serves as the Associate Pastor at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, North Hollywood in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
