Liturgical Season:

1 Thes 1:6-10

6And you became imitators* of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in great affliction, with joy from the holy Spirit, 7so that you became a model for all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.e 8For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth not only in Macedonia and [in] Achaia, but in every place your faith in God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything.f 9For they themselves openly declare about us what sort of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true Godg 10and to await his Son from heaven, whom he raised from [the] dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the coming wrath.h

Jn 14:28-31

28* You heard me tell you, ‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’t If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. 29And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe.u 30I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world* is coming. He has no power over me, 31but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me. Get up, let us go.v
